Do you ever...

Do you ever get a brilliant idea, like to have a big party and invite all the coolest kids, and then once you've committed yourself, you freak out?

Because what if they laugh at how little my house is, and my kids' rooms don't stay clean, no matter what, and that the only place for the kids' computer is in the living room, and my kitchen is the size of their master bathroom?

And what if my house smells like dogs and I don't realize it, and what if my fun party food is really stupid?

And what if the smell from the air conditioning leak doesn't go away in time? And what if all the stains don't come out of the carpet?

Yeah, me neither.

Nah, I don't *blushing* Who am I kidding? I stress about those things not just when we have parties but whenever we have anyone over to visit!

We keep our computer in the living on purpose. It is the only one with internet access, and this way we can keep tabs onthe nephew. :-) Everybody can see what everyone else looking at. :-)

I think about those kinds of things no matter who is coming over to my house - college students that don't know any better, single men that don't know any better, women from church that do know better but know better than to say anything to the contrary (and on the list goes)!
But I'm finally getting used to having parties and trying to overcome the crazy thoughts scurrying through my brain. The more you have, the easier it gets. :o)

I'm getting better at "getting over myself" when it comes to entertaining in my home. BUT, I'm on the new neighborhood "social committee" (la-dee-dah) and I suggested we throw a casino night party for new year's eve. What do I know about casino games - NOT ONE THING! And now I'm in charge of plannig it...oops!
