Whacked-Out Logic
Warning: This post is in NO way holiday-related. I'm still completely in holiday mode, but right now? Just stoopid.
And on to our topic.
For the past couple of years, Fritos have made me feel yucky. If I eat them, that is. Not miraculously from the grocery shelf or anything. So even though I love, love, love the Frito food group, I stay away from it most of the time. Frito pie (with chili) is okay in moderation, but just a bowl of Fritos? Oh No Ma'am. Unless I want to take to my bed with the yucks.
Do you think it has something to do with the Crohn's?
Anyway.
Today I woke up feeling crappy. I think it's a Christmas hangover or Wii overload or something. I've spent the day sitting in the bed watching DVR'd Christmas movies and supervising children. I did get up to cook lunch, but then straight back to my bedroom when it was over. I ate a half piece of pecan pie while they ate quesadillas and/or pasta with sauce.
Yum. Remind me to tell you sometime about the pecan pie wars in my family. (Not pie throwing, oh no. Pie cooking.)
So anyway, what about the Fritos, Lori? Oh yeah. So I decided that since I feel like crap anyway, I'd indulge myself and eat a bowl of Fritos. I mean, I'm already in bed, right? What's a little Frito hangover gonna change?
How's that for logical?
I am clearly a lunatic.

What is the saying? "Misery loves company?" ;-) I'll be praying for you... :-)
Yup, "I decided that since I feel like crap anyway, I'd indulge myself" and I go waaaay back! In my case it's dairy rather than corn chips, but the same rationalization applies.
I hope you feel better tomorrow!
Ooooh, I know what you mean. I do bad things to myself too. Hope you feel ok though.
I totally understand that logic. I tend to get really bad headaches if I eat too much sugar (we are talking miraine-ish), the other day I had one and I was walking through the kitchen to the bedroom I spied the apple pie and the 3.8trillion cookies and thought "hmmm ... I already have a headache, why not?" Hubby stopped me though.
The spoil sport!
I love your logic, totally.
So fun catching up with you! We are suffering from a Wii hangover, too. My entire family is ADDICTED, and my 5 yr old can beat me at just about everything. Sigh.
Love to you and your family!
Katherine
