Advice Forum Friday

It's Friday again, y'all! One week closer to Thanksgiving - heck, it's practically here - and more importantly, Christmas!

This year, I'm asking Santa for a laptop and a camera. I'd love a camcorder too, but I'm hoping to find a camera that also takes short video clips. And here's the kicker - it has to cost practically nothing.

I'd love a great, fancy camera, but let's face facts - it would take me forever to figure out how to use it, and I can't afford more than about $300. I want great quality photos, quick shutter speed, video clips, and lots of zoom.

Now, for the laptop, all I really want to do is access this here internet from wherever I am. I'm gonna need Word and Excel on it, and I'll probably use it to download my pictures and video clips, and hopefully burn the videos to DVD. So, I want 1GB and a DVD burner, right?

This is where you come in, my friends. Tell me what laptop and digital camera you have, and what you like and don't like about them. Anything else I forgot to ask? Tell me that, too!

And if you need advice, help or input today, just write about it at your blog, link to my post, and sign the Mr. Linky down below.

And have a great weekend!

I have an HP Photosmart M425. It takes short videoclips (no sound). I also have a 256mB card for the pics - the camera itself will only 'remember' 10.
I bought it a year and a half ago at WalMart on clearance for $50 and it's still going strong for me!

BTW - totally go for the rechargeable batteries by Kodak, Energizer, or whoever. It is definitely worth it if you have a digital camera!

www.newegg.com sells computer parts to build your own computer - and computers for super cheap too.

Hi, Lori :-)

I have a Cannon Powershot S3IS. It is 6 pixels. Here is a picture:

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=144&modelid=13077

It is a wonderful camera. I am not sure how much it cost. My BIL bought it new last year, and I paid him $300 to buy it from him. He decided he just HAD to have the 8 pixel. :-) I did find it online at amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-Image-Stabilized-Zoom/dp/B000EMWBV0/ref=sr_1_4/002-3097099-0689610?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1195248154&sr=1-4

It is listed for $285 there, and remember, anything over $25 is free shipping. :-)

The only "downside" is that it uses AA batteries, rather than a recharchable battery. But, I use Duracel in it and they seem to last quite awhile. :-)

The feature that really made me want to get this camera is because it has a feature that allows you take a picture of something, and it will wash out all but one color from the picture. It is SO COOL. I blogged about here: http://wendysdarling.blogspot.com/2007/09/i-got-my-camera-woo-hoo-i-got-my-new.html

There are pictures as well. ;-) I hope this helps you. I am sorry I left such a long comment, but I am really excited about it. :-) Be sure and let us know what you get. ;-)

PLEASE help: I'm new to this site. I have an important question!
Is there any way to fix it when suit jackets are faded across the tops of the shoulders?
I'm in an desperate situation with this so will be grateful for any valid suggestions!
THANK YOU!
